Magee report for 28-May-2006

My sightings later.

Rick N. posted to the TNA message board:

Sorry for the late post but on Sunday, May 28, on the bird trail at Magee Marsh: I saw a first year male Blue Grosbeak between the small loop and the spur that goes south into the marsh. The bird was seen again on Monday by another birder, about 50 yards west of this location.

Activity on the bird trail has slowed considerably. Sunday afternoon I had three Mourning warbers and two Yellow-bellied Flycatchers before I saw the Grosbeak, in just an hour of birding. Monday there were as many as 20 Yellow-billed Cuckoos and 3 Mourning warblers.
