What is BSBO Bird Study
BSBO Bird Study is an informal group open to people of all ages and any level of birding interest. We begin each meeting with a profile of a favorite bird species, followed by a feature presentation covering a variety of nature related topics, and we wrap things up by sharing our most recent bird encounters or experiences with nature. Bird Study is a great way to relax, talk about birds, and visit with friends, old and new. And we’ll top it all off with some great snacks. - March 8, 2007 - Birds and Wildlife of Morocco presented by Jack and Jan Volker. A species profile of the Northern Harrier will be given by Paul Hemminger.
- February 8, 2007 - Wildlife of Alaska. Tom Bartlett will bring a little bit of Alaska to Ohio for everyone to enjoy. Also, Cheryl Whipple will give a species profile on the Brown Creeper.
- January 11, 2007 - Shade Grown Coffee. We'll have some snacks and investigate why buying shade grown coffee is a benefit for birds. Free sample of shade ground coffee.
- December 14, 2006 - Happy Holidays Party! Christmas Nature Crafts for Everyone presented by Karen Mitchell. White Elephant Gift Exchange.
- November 9, 2006 - Species profile is the Wild Turkey, presented by Pat Seles. Feature presentation is The Birds of Ecuador, presented by Kenn and Kim Kaufman.
- October 12, 2006 - Species profile is the Cedar Waxwing, presented by Dana Bollin. Feature presentation is Managing Waterfowl Populations by Mark Shildcastle.
- September 14, 2006 - Species profile is the Eastern Kingbird, presented by Pam Menchaca. Feature Presentation is the movie "March of the Penguins."
- August 10, 2006 - Species profile is the Ovenbird Warbler, presented by Samantha Gates (age 13). Feature presentation is Ohio's Summer Wildflowers by Chris Knoll.
