- August 19, 2006 - Don't Fear the Peeps Shorebird ID presented by Kenn Kaufman. If you've ever spent time in the field looking at shorebirds, then you know they can be a difficult and confusing group to identify. Join legendary bird expert, author, and speaker, Kenn Kaufman as he shares his vast experience with these beautiful to look at, but frustrating to identify birds. A follow-up field trip to Ottawa NWR will test our new skills.
- September 16, 2006 - Confusing Fall Warbler ID presented by Tom Bartlett. Okay, so we've tackled shorebird ID. Fall warblers should be simple, right? If you answered yes to this question, you won't want to miss this helpful program presented by one of Ohio's leading bird experts. Tom will help us separate Blackpolls and Bay-breasted and Pine Warblers. Not to mention telling Tennessees from Orange-crowneds. We'll follow the program with a field trip to the world famous Magee Marsh boardwalk.
- October 21, 2006 - Ohio's Herps presented by Kent Bekker. What in the world is a "Herp?" A "Herp" is the term used to describe Reptiles and Amphibians. Kent Bekker is a Herptetologist with the Toledo Zoo. Kent will bring along some super cool critters for us to take a look at.
- November 18, 2006 - Winter Bird Feeding presented by Wild Birds Unlimited owner, Bernie Place. Winter in Ohio is a fabulous time to watch birds. One of the best ways to observe them is to set up a feeding station in your very own backyard. Local bird feeding expert, Bernie Place, will share his expertise and bring along some of the latest in bird feeding systems for us to check out.
- December 16, 2006 - Ohio's Winter Bird Atlas presented by Julie Shieldcastle. By the time January rolls around in Ohio, birders are in serious need of a cure for cabin fever. Julie Shieldcastle will explain how taking part in the Ohio Winter Bird Atlas can be the perfect way to have winter adventures and help us answer some of the questions surrounding just what birds are braving Ohio's winter weather.
