Metzger sightings 31-Dec-2006

From the TNA message board ...

Off Route 2, along the left side of the entrance road before the Metzger Marsh Causeway, there were good numbers of Lapland Longspurs, Snow Buntings, and the usual Horned Larks. They were relatively distant so you almost have to wait for them to move in the air to even know they are present. The Longspurs and Buntings are best seen and appreciated with a scope. Unfortunately the Purple Sandpiper was a no-show.
