A drive around MBSP early this afternoon was pretty quiet. I was hoping for perched raptors on snow covered branches but no such luck. As we were leaving the campground we did notice a pair of Hermit Thrushes feeding on the Sumac near the Air station. The birds jumped from side to side feeding on the sumacs all along this area.

Hermit Thrush Update: The bird was seen again yesterday in the same location. It moves around a bit and can be found either in the Sumacs or perching up in one of the leafless cottonwoods nearby.
There is a very agressive Robin there, guarding the sumac berries. I have watched it rough up the Hermit Thrush, two White-throated Sparrow, it chased off a N. Cardinal and really throttled a Mourning Dove. I still have only seen the one Hermit.
A N. Mockingbird was also found just north of this location, along the campground's main road.
