On April 26, a controlled burn was conducted on the Adam Grimm field that is normally host later on to nesting Grasshopper Sparrows, Savannah Sparrows, and Bobolinks. But the black field is still worth a check. On Sunday, April 30, a flock of breeding plumage Lapland Longspurs were spotted in the field. A few of the Longspurs were seen again on May 1. An Upland Sandpiper was spotted in the field April 30.
