A little more songbird activity along the boardwalk on a very windy, cloudy, drizzly, but mild day. I got started at 11:00 a.m. Another birder who got started much earlier and was leaving said he saw along the boardwalk: Louisiana Waterthrush Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Savannah Sparrow, Field Sparrow, and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

The weather: cloudy, southwest winds blowing 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts, temps in the upper 50's to low 60's, light rain and drizzle off and on.

A nice flock of several dozen Juncos in the parking lot by the boardwalk. Several Juncos were singing along the boardwalk. It was hard to hear because of the wind roaring through the trees.

Some other boardwalk sightings:

Eastern Phoebe x
Hermit Thrush x
Brown Creeper x
Sharp-shinned Hawk x
Cooper's Hawk x
Golden-crowned Kinglet xi
Winter Wren x
Fox Sparrow x
Northern Harrier x
Blue-winged Teal x
Bald Eagle x
Tree Swallows x
Rusty Blackbird xi

The "motorboat" frogs were singing, whatever they're called.

Also along the boardwalk resting on the mud, not in the water, was a snapping turtle. Only his head would move a little. He would lower his head into a tiny puddle of water for a bit, and then raise it up, rinse and repeat. I watched him for a while and that was his only movement.
