In the morning, winds were from the north at 10 to 15 mph with temps 45 to 50 under cloudy skies. The sun popped out some by mid-day. Bird numbers were low with a decent variety in the warbler group. Just took a little work. At least 19 species of warblers were observed. The BSBO sold hot dogs, which provided a nice lunch break.

The best sighting was watching an adult American Woodcock with four young. The birds moved around near the boardwalk by the tower at the west entrance. The birds didn't care about the crowd of people watching them. The backs of the young birds looked almost identical as the adult. When the adult dug up a grub, and a young bird would be right by the adult's beak and would take the food from the adult. It was fun to watch. Naturally, I didn't have my camera with me. They hung around next to the boardwalk for a long time. They moved under the boardwalk too.
